I was driving on Interstate 5 between Portland Oregon and Seattle Washington one day a few years ago when this cute little white Mercedes Benz 450SL convertible caught my eye. For several miles, we traveled in close proximity; sometimes I was in front of the Mercedes and sometimes it was in front of or beside me, but for almost an hour, we were never out of sight of one another. The license plate on the Mercedes read "BEWHOUR". I'm embarrassed to admit it now, but it took a while to figure out that the message was be-who-you-are.

I was en route to a coach training class that day and it felt to me that the license plate message was speaking directly to me. For me and my coaching clients, the most powerful action we can take for reaching personal goals is to be authentic; to be-who-you-are.

With that foundation, the concept of urbestself naturally emerged. We get to choose which of our many qualities—some more effective than others—we lead with each day. Why not choose the best-your-best-self.

Marti Benjamin's story

Marti Benjamin, MBA, Professional Certified Coach, is founder and President of Business Energetix, a Business Coach and Consultant firm supporting executives, business owners and professionals in business innovation, growth and expansion. Marti partners with business leaders to build on their strengths and to take both the business and the leader to a greater level of performance.

Business Experience

She brings to her Small Business Coaching practice more than 25 years of experience as a business executive and leader. Marti has worked with companies ranging from small start-up to a multi-billion dollar, publicly traded corporation. Her proven business skills include marketing, strategic planning, communications, operations, quality improvements, client services, new product development, consulting and training.

Education

Marti earned her MBA from San Jose State University winning the College of Business award that year for Outstanding Comprehensive Project. Marti earned the Certified Professional Coach certificate from the Academy for Coach Training and proudly holds the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential awarded by the International Coach Federation.
